FAQ

If I get my phone lost, how can I deactivate Dingtone account on the lost device to protect my security and privacy?

For iOS users, if you subscribe to a service like iCould, you can remote-wipe your phone. After that, you really don’t need to do anything special. Otherwise, you can take the following steps to stop Dingtone working on the lost device:

Two situations will be considered,

Situation#1. You have set login password for Dingtone account.

Step 1. Download and Install the Dingtone app on your new phone.

Step 2. Login your Dingtone account using your either phone number, email address or WeChat account.

Step 3. After you’ve successfully login your Dingtone account, a warning message will be seen reminding you that your Dingtone account is on service on another device (actually your lost device), tap “Deactivate” to automatically log out your Dingtone account on your lost device and you can use it on your new device.

Situation#2. You have NOT set login password for Dingtone account.

Step 1. Download and Install the Dingtone app on your new phone.

Step 2. Login your Dingtone account using your either phone number, email address or WeChat account together with an access code.

Step 3. After you’ve successfully login your Dingtone account, a warning message will be seen reminding you that your Dingtone account is on service on another device (actually your lost device), tap “Deactivate” to automatically log out your Dingtone account on your lost device and you can use it on your new device.
